Vehicle Description
This 1964 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible is owned by the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is a complete, running condition project car with extra parts that was donated to the Museum through an estate. The previous owner was in the process of restoring this VW and has amassed a large selection of used parts that will accompany this sale.
The VW is a worth a restoration and will make a nice project car for the right owner. It receieved a brake job and basic cleaning since its donation to the Museum. It has been driven around the grounds and is in good basic operating condition. It does have numerous issues that will need to be addressed before it is placed into active service. For example, the driver's side door does not properly latch, some of the exterior lights are currently not functioning, etc. Other obvious defects include wear and tear to the top and and some rust to the underbody. The AACA Museum does not have the resources to restore this car which is the main reason it is being offered for sale.
As stated, this transaction will include the parts shown in the accompanying phographs. The total cache is too large to list, but includes extra tires, convertible bows, front and rear deck lids, lighting, bezels, miscellanous trim, etc.
Interested parties are encouraged to make an appointment to view the car in person or send a designated representative on their behalf. The vehicle is sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. The high-bidder is responsible for all transporation costs and will have two weeks from the end of the auction to pickup the car unless special arrangements are made in advance. The car is located at the Museum in Hershey, PA. The VW has a valid Pennsylvania state title which will be transferred to the high-bidder.
For additional information/photographs or to schedule an inspection, please contact Jeffrey Bliemeister, Museum Curator at 717-566-7100 ext. 104 or email at: jbliemeister@aacamuseum.org
