For Sale, 1963 Karmann Ghia, coupe model with snap on type sunroof. The car is Red, and in pretty good shape. The car runs pretty good, has twin carbs, its pretty clean. It will need electrical work. I priced out a new wiring harness online for $249.00 and actually a high school kid could re-wire this car on a weekend. The wiring is so basic. She'll fire right up and is very drivable. The body is in fine shape, the interior was done in a medium brown Naugahyde. I purchased this car to restore it, but I've come to realize that I just don't have the time to do it. I have too many projects going on right now.
This car is in the kind of shape you are looking for in a restoration project. Meaning minimal structural or body work. I haven't found any rust, I did look. The mileage says 44,188. I don't know if that is actual mileage. All the forward and reverse gears work just fine. The tires are good, everything appears to be in decent shape. All the glass is good (no chips or scratches) The doors open and close ....solid. That little trunk up front works fine, There is a sound system in it. It has the chrome emblems "karmin ghia" I bought the car in April, and it is sitting inside of a container, protected from the elements. This car is located in Alameda, which is in the San Francisco Bay area. The buyer is responsible for any freight or shipping, we will help with the loading.
The seller retains the right to end this auction early, as this car is for sale locally. This car has a clear title. I've been looking at a lot of Karmann Ghias in ebay and other places, and I don't think you will find very many in this kind of shape. Keep in mind this car was manufactured in 1963 and to the best of my knowledge this has been a California car. This car could be a daily driver, and with the price of gas these days. You could do a lot worse. If you would like to know more about the car, you can respond via ebay, email stanthur@hotmail.com or call 415-716-0766
We accept PayPal, checks, however checks will clear before car goes anywhere. For you scam artists (you know who you are) don't waste my time and yours, I will call the bank it's drawn on to verify funds. Thanks for taking the time to look at my ad.
