I bought this car 2 months ago from an Embassy who bought it from new and regularly serviced it. I have receipts from the mission for Sept 07 ($1515) and March 08 ($857). On purchase, I repaired the air conditioning (which now operates with a manual switch on the instrument panel) replaced the air conditioning filter along with other minor service items ($993), then subsequently paid to have it fully tuned. The car runs really well, and the tyres have plenty of tread. The reason I am selling this car is because I am shifting countries with work.
There are a number of points to note about the car:
- While the wheels are Volvo mags on the back, they are normal on the front (i.e. its not a full set of mags)
- The bodywork is poor - i.e. the bumpers have damage to them, there is a small dent on the right side tirewell, a few other minor nicks. Some birdpoop also needs to be polished off.
- the drivers seat has a rip in the upholstery.
- When the air conditioning was fixed and the warrant of fitness issued, the SRS light went on. I'm guessing that to reset it, the following needs to be done http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_reset_the_SRS_light_in_a_Volvo_V70 - but am yet to try it. At the same, time, the car radio stopped working, presumably the factory codes need to be re-entered.
- From time to time the keys seem to get stuck in the ignition and can't be taken out, only to freely release at another time. We think this problem relates mainly to just one of the two sets of keys.
- The car needs a wash and valet, and we won't get a chance to do this before selling it.
This is an as is, where is sale, with no guarantees/ warranties in relation to the car - inspection is welcome prior to auction deadline. Please note the deposit is required within one day of completing the sale, and full payment due within 3 days. After which the vehicle must be collected by Thursday 16 October (we depart the country shortly thereafter).

I noted above that the keys don't come out of the ignition from time to time. My wife points out that this has been happening regularly lately - to avoid any understatements, bidders should assume that if the car is taken for a drive, that the keys won't come out of the ignition.
