1928 WILLYS WHIPPET
MODEL 98
4 DOOR 5 PASSENGER SEDAN
This original 1928 Whippet Model 98 Sedan is a rare survivor and we are extremely happy to have it in our listings. Just try buying parts for a Whippet if you don't believe me. Whippet cars were only produced for a three years or so. The Whippet was built by the Willys Overland Motor Company. It was this car that was responsible for the company's spectacular sales gains in the 1920's.
This beauty was inherited and stored indoors, and never restored as planned. This is not a "piece" car, and he says it's complete, but our claim is going to be most everything is there because its bound to be missing something. Even the unique radiator cap is there. It shows 64,039 on the odometer. It was running 3 years ago but the owner is unable to start it today. He feels that the problem is minor and someone with engine knowledge will be able to correct it without difficulty, but he can't. It has all new tires and the glass is good. All the brake linkage was removed and repainted. He purchased the appropriate body paint, (sort of a hunter green) which is included in the sale. It comes with a clear title and original registrations from 1937-1948 (see photo).
